Jack's laugh never gets old...

Stef was playing a game of peek a boo with Jack and Avery and Jack thought it was hilarious. Avery thought it was awfully funny, too, until she spotted the camera. Then all she says is, "I see" or "I wanna see". In true Jack fashion, he's bouncing the entire time. I don't think he's still EVER unless he's asleep.

After the gigglefest, we had dinner. Avery was making a mess with her taco and as I was getting something from the kitchen, Stef snapped these pictures of her with avocado on her nose.

I'm speechless...

I did a lot of research before J&A were mobile as to which gates would be safest and most effective. I religiously read all the reviews I could find. I spent way more time than I needed to deciding which types to buy. This gate was one of the highest rated because of its ease of use and the fact that children are unable to open it....

I have since tightened up the latch so that I can hardly get it open. Hopefully she doesn't outsmart us again, but I fear she will.

A Couple of Videos

We spent the afternoon at Cindi's house and hung out with her and her two boys, Ian and Miles. Avery fell in love with a wig and didn't want to take it off....

We spent Friday evening downtown with Auntie Steffie, Nana and Bapa. Jack thought the star on Macy's was something...his words were, "Woweeee!!"

Air Track

We've been going to Little Gym for several months now and so far, Jack & Avery's favorite activity is the "air track". Jack is wearing a green top and navy blue pants. Avery's top is white and her pants are pink with two vertical black stripes. Jack doesn't stop jumping the entire time...

Baby you can drive my car....

These videos are from a few days ago (pre-haircuts). We took a roadtrip up to the outlet mall in Marysville. It was freezing cold, but Jack and Avery discovered the cars. They've never noticed them before nor have they ridden in them. They now know and I don't think we'll be able to pass them again for some time without riding one.

Haircuts and Snow

Jack and Avery finally got their first haircut. It was a long time coming and with our busy schedules it has been hard to find time to do it. We met up with Court and Stef at the Crossroads Mall in Bellevue. They have a cute kids' salon called Salon at CF Kids. I really liked our stylist and they were prepared for littles ones. Avery went first because she usually handles these types of things better and she sets a good tone so that Jack doesn't freak out. She just got a bang trim and a little trim in the back so that her hair can grow out a little bit.

She sat so still and behaved very well

The finished product.

She wanted out at this point.

She got to go look at pretty nail polish with Auntie Steffie afterwards.

Jack sat in the big kid's chair while he waited for his turn.

He picked the airplane for his haircut

Waiting for his box of toys

He handled the haircut very well, but when the cut hairs started falling on him and tickling him, he needed to be distracted with M&M's. They kept his focus for the rest of his haircut.

Smiling with a mouthful of chocolate
This is a good picture of their haircuts. We got home and the snow was still on the ground so the 3 of us went and played around until our fingers were icecubes.
Jack just decided he wanted to sit down in the snow.

Mom said smile so Jack and Avery smiled...

Santa Train

It was another frigid day out here with snow flurries and everything. It was a perfect day to ride the Santa Train.

The group (except Court who is the photographer) in line to get on the Santa Train in North Bend, heading to Snoqualmie to go see Santa

Talking about sitting on Santa's lap

Not so interested in Santa

Jack, ever so quietly, asking to leave right now

The closest we got to sitting on Santa's lap, maybe next year...?
on the ride home, much happier to be far from the frightening man dress in red

Christmas Tree

As much as Court would like to have an artificial tree, I'm just not ready to give up the tradition of getting a live tree each year. We spent our Saturday morning finding just the right tree for our house. It was freezing cold outside, but the sun was shining so it was comfortable in the sun, but cold cold cold in the shade.

Avery and Jack also received their first Christmas gift and we had an idea of what would be inside so we opened them up. They got new coats from their Great Aunt Georgie and Uncle Ted. Their favorite thing about their new coats is that they have pockets.

Checking out an old truck at the tree farm. Jack insisted it was a "choo choo".

Family photo op

Jack trying to take off with their John Deere tractor...if only his legs were a little longer he'd have been on his way.

It was so cold, I really appreciated holding Jack and/or Avery. They kept me toasty warm.
Beautiful Mt Si in the sunshine
Mum cutting down our tree with assistance from Auntie Stef and a couple of very interested toddlers.
Insisting that we go check out the "choo choo".
