Christmas Tree 2010

I posted these pictures without any commentary and then felt like I needed to add a little something to it...We made our annual trek to Keith & Scott's Tree Farm in North Bend.  One of the perks of living out in the sticks is that places like pumpkin patches and tree farms are right down the street!  Auntie Steffie joined us an helped cut the tree down and keep track of Jack and Avery.

In search of our tree
Jack really wanted to get his hands on that saw in Auntie's hand!

Avery is really getting into the Christmas spirit.  When we got home all she could say was, "Merry Christmas, Mama!  I love you, Mama!!  Our tree is so beautiful!"

Family photo attempt!
Stef took this picture and told Ave to do her "frumple face".  She, of course, did not disappoint!!

More Snow Videos...

We had such fun in the snow today and tomorrow ought to be as much fun.  We now have at least 12 inches of snow in our yard and the temps are at 24 degrees and dropping.  Tomorrow is a preschool day, but I think we'll hang out at the house and go on a walk in our neighborhood and check out the snow instead.

Playing in the snow WITH little ones is more fun than playing in the snow was AS a little least I think so.

This is the first moments outside. Avery looks at the road and says, "There's not a road!"

You'll be able to see the videos better if you double click and watch them directly from youtube...

And of course you must catch a snowflake with your tongue!!

Snow tasting!!

It's best to double click on the video and watch it in youtube to see the full screen...

More Monkey Boy and Avery Frumple Face

Jack will find a way to vault over any obstacle in his way, if for no other reason than to prove to himself that he can do it.  Here he is using his little red car (with wheels, I might add) as a stepping stool to climb over the other gate in the kitchen.

Avery has a face she makes when she is frustrated or mad and sometimes she makes it in a really exaggerated way.  It's been termed her "frumple face" and I can't help but giggle every time she does it.  She gets a kick out of the laughs she gets and it's also hard for her to stay mad when everyone around her is smiling at her.  Stef, I took this video just for you.  You're the one who loves the frumple face the most!!

Say Cheese!

We went to a photo studio to have pictures taken for our Christmas card and we were able to get a copy of the photos on disc, yay!  I love it when that happens.  Those of you on our Christmas distribution list will get a copy of one of these photos and if you're not on our list (didn't get a card from us last year) and want one, let me know!!  I'm not telling which picture it is so you'll just have to guess!

Jack had a good time at the photo shoot, but Avery was very leery of the photographer.  She didn't warm up to him until the very end, so all the pictures of her are rather serious.

Here are some of the choices :)

The first photo of the shoot, neither is to sure of the photographer...

When asked to smile, this was Avery's bratty brat :)

The photographer had a Bert stuffie and was bonking him against one of the light poles.  Jack thought it was hilarious which is why he's cracking up here...

Peace, Hang Loose and Rock On are common hand gestures in our household.  Sometimes they get all mixed up, but that's what they are doing in this photo.  The photographer said, "Thumbs Up!" to them for cooperating so they started in on all the signs they knew...
They managed to get the thumbs up sign right eventually!
I'm so glad they love each other most of the time!!

Avery loves babies!!

I visited a high school friend a few days ago. She has a 16 month-old little girl (Katelyn) and a 7 week old baby girl (Jenna). Avery kept asking over and over and over again if she could hold baby Jenna. She finally got the chance. In the video if you listen carefully you can hear Avery say, "that's my mama (pointing to me) and that's Jenna's mama (pointing to Lori)!"

Monkey Boy!

Just the other day, Jack discovered how to climb over one of our gates.  I didn't see him do it the first time, but I caught him in the act the second time.  What's funny is that when he got to the other side, he looked at me and said, "I don't want go in time-out!"  That boy spends enough time in time-outs that he knows what not to do.  Sometimes he just can't help himself.  His impulse control just isn't quite strong enough to keep him from doing all the things he knows he should not do...
