The boat was out on Saturday and Sunday. The forecast called for temperatures in the 80's on Sunday so we were excited to spend the day on the water. In actuality, the sun didn't shine on Lake Sammamish until we were back on land and heading for home. We still had tons of fun though.
The water was so cold on Saturday, according to the boat thermometer, the water temp was a cool 60 degrees. I got in up to my waist and didn't want to go in any further. Since Court was already in with the kids, I was off the hook. Phew. With just my feet in, my bones ached all the way up to my thighs. I'm a pretty big wuss when it comes to cold water though. Avery was in hog heaven swimming around with her Mum all to herself and she cried when it was time to get back in the boat. Her lips were blue and she was shivering like crazy but she still didn't want to get out of the water!!
On our way to the lake on Sunday morning we stopped and got them wetsuits so they'd be more comfortable and that helped a lot.
These are pictures from Saturday:
One video from Saturday, getting ready to test out the water...
And on Sunday the wetsuits are on, I even put my full wetsuit on and I was still cold!
This is on the ride back to shore. They got all bundled up in their cozy blankets and stayed that way until we got off the boat. Brrrrr.
It was way past their normal naptime and I had dropped Court off to get the truck and trailer and if you could see my expression, I wasn't too pleased with the kids. They wanted to get up and squirrel around and I was not having it!!
After all the fun over the weekend, we had to go to the dentist on Monday morning, bummer. They didn't actually mind at all and they both did very well. Avery has always sat on my lap at the dentist and this time she climbed right up on her own and sat through the entire cleaning all by herself.
