One Week Old

We made it! One week and how many to go??? :)) As Mel stated, I have been hurting on the sleep side of things. I swear there must be a hormone that kicks in, for the birth mother, because Mel is functioning much better than I am, and let me tell you, she couldn't even get up to let Katie out in the middle of the night!! Go figure...

Week two will bring another visit to the pediatrician on Thursday for their 2 week check up. On Friday, we will get our in home visit from the social worker, so she can sign off on the adoption petition. I know I haven't blogged about that process, but yes, I had to go through the ringer to adopt my own children. It should all be over soon. Once she signs off on the home visit, then our attorney will petition the court for a date with the judge, and then that will be that. I will need to write that story someday, because it is quite a process! And in some states, it is not even possible. And in some states, like Washington, it is county by county, judge by judge. Good thing we live in King County.

We also got a surprise care package from home (Montana) yesterday. It was packed full of new clothes, receiving blankets, bibs, et al. Brenda summoned all of her little worker bees (that would be her big ass embroidery machine - it looks like a transformer (the movie) and there are two of them!) of her Beeline embroidery business to whip us some very very cute couture. We will be posting pictures soon of them in their receiving blankets. THANK YOU Brenda!

I am also posting the latest video that Suzie shot last night. Our own professional photographer and videographer!!! How lucky could we be????
