I am happy to report that we have tied up most loose ends that needed to get done before the babies come. The only thing I didn't get done was everyone's taxes. I am about 70% done with all of them so I just need to sit down and bang out the rest of them. So far, all good news for everyone. The worst is counseling people on their taxes all year and then having them owe a load come April 15th. It only happened to me once with my good friends Karla and John, and we were both mortified! For different reasons, of course. We laugh about it every year and today on the phone, she said that she was sorry that their taxes cause me so much strife. Good thing they are getting a refund. Phew!
In addition to errands and readying the house, Stef stayed the weekend and we hand a "Bourne" marathon. None of us had ever seen any of the movies and Brian and Glenn love the trilogy and own all of three, so they lent them to us. Well, we are now officially fans, as well. Who knew Matt Damon could be so sexy???
Speaking of Brian and Glenn, we are suffering withdrawals since they went to their cabin at Mt Baker this weekend. I will see them tomorrow when I take Katie there in the morning for some play time. She is getting sick of us girls and needs some boy time and some doggie time.
Mom and Dad came out today and helped us with all that needed to be done and made a yummy pot roast for dinner, topped off with a chocolate cream pie. We are all stuffed sitting here watching the Grammy's on E, with Katie snuggled right smack between Mel's belly and Nana. Does life get any better?
Mom and Dad booked their tickets to Paris and London today for their trip in September. Argh...and we won't be going along. Say it isn't so. Just give us a few more months under our belts and we will be ready to be jet setting once again. Puerto Vallarta here we come, January or March 2009. Back to tradition. Maybe my brother and his family would consider coming??? I know that Crystal would be in but Lloyd, we will have to see. Brenda, you will have to come with Crystal and the boys. I heard from Crystal today and she has returned from her shift in the North Sea and is home for a few weeks to return for what I believe is two more turns. I will keep you updated on her comings and goings as I get word. For those of you who don't know, my one and only niece, Crystal Cunniff, is a petroleum engineer, based out of Houston and is working a couple of turns in the North Sea. We don't get to see each other nearly enough but she is the most intelligent, beautiful, fun, successful, young woman I know. And I not biased. I love you Crys.
Off tomorrow for another ultrasound at (7:30AM, yikes that is early to be in Seattle) to measure amniotic fluid, followed by an NST to monitor contractions and heartbeats. Then off to work which is getting harder and harder to concentrate on or really care about. It all seems inconsequential now. But it pays the bills... Unfortunately, Lloyd and I were NOT trust fund babies!
So, everyone, what is the birthday going to be? I am still sticking to February 29th.
